FAQ’s for Floatation Therapy

What should I bring?

We’ve got the essentials covered — towels, earplugs, shampoo, body wash, and conditioning spray at our hair drying stations.

You might like to bring:

  • A hairbrush or comb
  • Any personal grooming products you prefer
  • A case for your contact lenses (if you wear them)

After your float, take your time and unwind with complimentary refreshments in our peaceful Reflection Space — The Moon Room.

What should I wear?

Most guests choose to float without clothing to fully experience the sense of weightlessness and relaxation — but swimwear is absolutely welcome if you prefer. Each float room is completely private and secure, so you can feel comfortable either way.

Do I need to prepare?

There’s no special preparation needed — just arrive 10 minutes before your session (or 15 minutes if it’s your first time), and we’ll guide you through everything. Come as you are, and we’ll take care of the rest.

How long should I float?

Our standard sessions last 60 minutes, which is perfect for most people to unwind fully. We also offer 90-minute floats for a deeper experience. Fancy floating for longer? Just have a chat with us — we’re happy to see what’s available and tailor the session to suit you.

Is it safe to fall asleep in the pod?

Absolutely! The high salt concentration in the water keeps you buoyant, so even if you drift off to sleep, you’ll remain safely afloat. It’s actually quite common for people to relax so deeply they doze off during their float. Just let go and enjoy the experience!

What if I’m claustrophobic?

We understand that some people may feel a bit anxious in small spaces. Rest assured, our pods are spacious, with plenty of room to move around. They also have a full airflow system and LED lights that you can control. If you’re still feeling unsure, the lid can remain open or slightly ajar to ensure you feel comfortable throughout your session.

Can I bring a friend?

While each float pod is designed for individual use, we have two identical rooms, so you and a friend can enjoy floatation therapy at the same time. Book both rooms and receive £5.00 off each session! Plus, when you choose more than one service—like a sauna session before your float—you’ll enjoy an additional 10% off your entire booking.

What happens if I roll over or get salt in my eyes?

The high buoyancy of the water makes it difficult to roll over, so you’ll stay safely afloat. If you do get salt in your eyes, don’t worry! Each pod has a spray bottle nearby for easy relief.

How clean is the water in a Floatation Tank?

Our flotation tanks are equipped with a powerful filtration system that cycles all water four times between sessions. The process includes UV purification, hydrogen peroxide sterilisation, and a 1-micron filter. The high concentration of Epsom salts also creates a naturally antibacterial environment, ensuring the water stays clean and hygienic for every session.

What ages can float?

We welcome clients aged 18 and older. In some cases, exceptions can be made for younger clients with adult supervision and prior approval, particularly for health-related reasons.

Do I need to know how to swim?

No, swimming is not necessary. The buoyant salt solution keeps you afloat effortlessly, so you can simply relax and let go.

What should I expect from my first float?

Floatation Therapy (REST) offers profound physical and mental relaxation. As a first-timer, you may need some time to adjust, so don’t be discouraged if it takes a bit to fully unwind. Returning for additional sessions will enhance your experience and provide deeper relaxation, bringing out the full benefits.

Can I float if I’m pregnant?

Yes, flotation therapy can be beneficial during pregnancy, but it’s always important to approach it with caution.

  • Many pregnant individuals enjoy the soothing effects of floatation therapy, especially for relieving back pain, stress, and swelling in the legs.
  • The buoyancy from the high Epsom salt concentration reduces pressure on the body, providing a relaxing, weightless experience.

However it’s recommended to consult with a doctor before floating, especially if you’re in your first trimester or have any pregnancy-related complications. We allow flotation therapy for pregnant individuals up to 3 weeks before their due date.

Who shouldn’t float?

If you have epilepsy, heart conditions, or an ear infection, we recommend consulting your doctor before floating. Please review our terms and conditions when booking to ensure flotation therapy is suitable for you.

After Your Float

Once your session is complete, take some time to unwind in our Reflection Space, “The Moon Room.” Enjoy a selection of complimentary hot and cold refreshments, relax with a good book, and allow yourself to fully embrace the calm, peaceful environment to enhance your post-float experience.
