Terms and Conditions
You must understand and agree to these terms and conditions to float.
You cannot accept these terms and conditions on behalf of anyone else.
We (Float Space) require you (the customer) to agree to these terms and conditions before you can float. We aim to communicate them clearly, and hope you understand that they are in place for good reasons. If you have any questions or need clarification, please contact us.
Please read these conditions carefully before booking on our website or by phone. By placing an order, you agree to these terms and conditions.
Health and Safety
While at the float center, you must exercise due care, as wet surfaces may be slippery.
You must not float if you:
- Are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Have open wounds, sores, or rashes.
- Have any contagious illness or disease*.
- Have incontinence.
- Have uncontrolled kidney disease.
- Have uncontrolled psychosis, schizophrenia, or seizure disorders.
- Have an uncontrolled heart condition.
- Have recently undergone chemotherapy.
- Are allergic to Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) or hydrogen peroxide.
- Are in the first trimester of pregnancy.
If you have any of these conditions, you must consult a healthcare professional to confirm that floating is safe for you and that it does not put others at risk. You can provide them with this document for more information on flotation.
If you develop any of these health conditions in the future, you must obtain approval from your healthcare professional before floating again.
- If you are on your period, please use a tampon or menstrual cup, as you would in a swimming pool. If using a tampon, ensure it is fully inserted.
- If you suffer from severe motion sickness, there is a chance you may experience it in the pod. Consider taking any usual motion sickness medication.
- If you are diabetic, be aware that floating can lower cortisol and blood sugar levels.
- If you have low blood pressure, take extra care when exiting the pod. Sit up and pause before standing to avoid dizziness.
COVID-19
You must not float if:
- You currently have or suspect you have COVID-19, or have experienced symptoms within the last 14 days.
- You have been in contact with anyone exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms in the last 14 days.
- You are self-isolating or have been advised to shield.
COVID-19 Symptoms include:
- Continuous dry cough.
- Fever or high temperature.
- Loss or change in sense of taste or smell.
To reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission, you must:
- Use hand sanitizer upon arrival.
- Maintain social distancing while in the float center.
- Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
- Avoid touching surfaces unnecessarily.
- Wear a face covering in common areas unless medically exempt.
If you work in a high-risk environment (e.g., NHS or care sector), please shower and change clothes before your appointment.
By visiting Float Space, you accept that:
- Float Space is taking reasonable measures to mitigate COVID-19 risks.
- You will take personal precautions to reduce the risk of transmission.
- You are choosing to float at your own risk.
Notify us immediately by phone if you develop COVID-19 symptoms after booking but before your appointment. If symptoms arise after your float, you must inform us as well.
For Your Comfort
We recommend avoiding the following before floating:
- Caffeine (within the last 4 hours).
- A large meal (within the last hour).
- Waxing (within the last 24-48 hours).
- Shaving (within the last 12-24 hours).
- Recent childbirth.
- New tattoos or piercings (wait 3-4 weeks until fully healed). If in doubt, apply hand sanitizer to the area—if it stings, wait longer before floating.
Mobility
Float Space is on the ground floor, with ramps for accessibility. However, you must be able to move independently around the center. Getting in and out of the float pod is similar to entering a bath. If you need assistance, you must bring someone qualified and insured to help you.

Consent
The minimum age to float at Float Space is 18. We may require you to produce photo ID as proof of age.
You will need to provide the following personal information:
- First name
- Last name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Date of birth
- A declaration that you do not have any of the health conditions listed above
You consent to us storing this information in accordance with our privacy statement.
If your circumstances change (including name, email address, etc) you must inform us before you next come to float.
Behaviour
We expect all customers to behave appropriately during their visit to Float Space. This includes following the reasonable instructions of our staff and showing respect to both our team, the facilities, and fellow customers. If, in the staff’s judgment, your behaviour is deemed inappropriate, you may be asked to leave, and you must comply. In such cases, you will not be eligible for a refund.
Before floating, you are required to shower thoroughly, including washing your hair, but do not use conditioner prior to your float (you’re welcome to use your own products and conditioner after your session).
You must not introduce any substances into the float solution except your body. This includes perfumes, essential oils, bath salts, chemicals, or any other additives. Please remove all makeup and any removable jewelry before entering the float pod.
If you contaminate the float solution in any way, you agree to pay up to £1,200 to cover the cost of cleaning the pod and solution, as well as any loss of income due to pod downtime.
To avoid contamination with hair dye, you should not float if you have recently dyed your hair. As a guideline, wait at least 10 days, or 30 days for red dye shades, before floating. Ensure the water runs completely clear when you shower at home. If there is still color running from your hair, wait for a few more washes before floating. Please note that wearing a swimming cap will not prevent contamination.
If you stain or damage towels, for example with hair dye, you may be charged to replace them.
You are responsible for any damage caused to the facilities, including float pods (e.g., marks from nail varnish) and for your own belongings during your visit.
Expectations
We aim to ensure all pricing and website content is accurate, but mistakes can happen. If an error occurs, we may not be able to honour the incorrect information.
Everyone’s experience of floating is different, and it may take some time to adjust and feel the full benefits. We ask that you approach your float with an open mind and no specific expectations. Your experience may differ from what you imagine and may involve unforeseen sensations.
We are committed to ensuring that you enjoy your time at Float Space. If you have any complaints, please let us know on the day or email us as soon as possible afterward. We aim to respond within 48 hours and will work with you to reach a satisfactory resolution.
